Aleksey Danilovich Bulokhov — Sc. D. in Biological Sciences, Professor, Head of the Dpt. of Biology of the Bryansk State University named after Academician I. G. Petrovsky. Honored Worker of the Higher School of the Russian Federation, Head of the Bryansk branch of the Russian Botanical Society, Head of the Regional branch of the Russian Ecological Academy.

A. D. Bulokhov is an Excellent Worker of Education, in 1989 he was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor. In 2008, he was awarded the title of Honorary Professor of Bryansk State University, which became a symbolic recognition of his scientific and public merits. For special merits and scientific achievements in the field of ecology and environmental protection in 2014 he was awarded the medal «150th anniversary of the birth of V. I. Vernadsky». In 2017, he was awarded the medal «For Contribution to the Development of the City of Bryansk» for his contribution to raising the cultural potential and improving education in the region.

The role of A. D. Bulokhov in the development of botanical science and biological education is reflected in awarding him the title of Honorary Member of the Russian Botanical Society in 2018.

A. D. Bulokhov is the author of more than 300 scientific papers in current areas of study of the vegetation cover of Russia. His research interests include vegetation science, phytocoenology, phytoindication, phytocoenological research methods, and local botanical history.
